TrueDay

Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 20, 2026

TrueDay is a personal wellness journaling app. This policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and your rights as a user. We designed TrueDay with privacy as a foundation — your personal reflections stay on your device and in your own iCloud account.

1. Data We Collect

TrueDay collects only the data you explicitly provide:

2. iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud Sync, your check-in data and categories are synced through Apple's CloudKit infrastructure to your personal iCloud account. This data is accessible only to you and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. TrueDay does not have access to your iCloud-synced data — it flows directly between your devices through Apple's servers.

iCloud Sync is opt-in and can be disabled at any time in Settings → Data.

3. Apple HealthKit (Optional, Premium)

With your permission, TrueDay may read health data from Apple HealthKit, including:

Health data is read locally on your device and used only to enhance your insight reports. TrueDay never uploads your HealthKit data to any server. Health correlations are computed on-device; only aggregate statistical summaries (e.g., "average rating on high-step days") are included when you generate an AI insight report.

HealthKit access is opt-in, requires your explicit permission, and can be revoked at any time in the Health app or iOS Settings.

4. AI Insights (Optional, Premium)

When you request an AI-generated insight report, TrueDay sends a structured summary of your data to a Cloudflare Worker proxy, which forwards it to OpenAI's API to generate a narrative. The data sent includes:

This data is not stored by TrueDay's server or by OpenAI beyond the duration of the API call. No personal identifiers (name, email, device ID) are sent. The AI insight feature is entirely opt-in and only activates when you tap "Generate Insight."

OpenAI processes data under their own privacy policy, which you can review at openai.com/privacy.

5. In-App Purchases

TrueDay Premium is a one-time purchase processed by Apple. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple and is never accessible to TrueDay. Purchase records and entitlement status are managed by RevenueCat, which processes a pseudonymous device identifier to verify your purchase. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

6. Analytics and Tracking

TrueDay does not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or behavioral tracking. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for commercial purposes.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All check-in data lives on your device (and your iCloud account if sync is enabled). You can permanently delete all data from Settings → Data Management → Delete All Data. This removes everything from your device immediately. To remove data from iCloud, disable iCloud Sync and delete the app, or manage it through iCloud Settings on your device.

8. Children's Privacy

TrueDay is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of TrueDay after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
